Promoting those
who promote business

Peoria, IL | September 24, 2020 - The Business PAC of Central Illinois today announced its endorsement of Mary Burress for Illinois Senate.

Burress is currently Tazewell County Treasurer and is seeking to unseat incumbent Dave Koehler to represent the 46th district in Springfield. The endorsement follows a thorough interview process undertaken by local business leaders to determine which candidate is most suited to reform Springfield and bring about necessary pension reform to create a more stable environment in Illinois for business retention and job creation.

Mary Burress will bring a new, yet experienced perspective to state government and will be an effective voice for Central Illinois. In her BizPAC interview, Mary exhibited a deep understanding of what small and medium-sized businesses want from Springfield. Her desire to stop the tax and spend mentality in Springfield, push the state to finally address meaningful pension reform, and to root out persistent government corruption displayed a strong grasp of the issues small business owners care about. For years job creators have been frustrated by the lack of progress that has been made addressing the obvious and mounting problems facing our state and Mary Burress will bring a new energy to Springfield to tackle these problems.

“BizPAC continues to hear from our small business members that they want change in Springfield. Our local businesses feel like the State keeps pushing mandates and taxes on to business versus looking for ways to cut spending in government. Our membership will keep demanding change in Springfield until our elected officials address the problems which have been plaguing our State for years, namely: high taxes, exorbitant pension costs, and government corruption” stated Sean Garrett, President of BizPAC.

Mary Burress joins Win Stoller as the other BizPAC endorsed Illinois Senate candidate in this November’s election.
